GLORIOUS CHANGE

Autumn's arrival never fails to provide inspiration for me. Lucky for us that autumn is an easy lesson on how to fill our senses with the rich beauty and purpose realized through change.

As we watch the long, warm days of summer slip away, it is faithfully the chill in the air and shorter hours of daylight that gift us with the splendor of fall. Vibrant colors are on display all around, cozy sweaters keep us warm, seasonal treats like apple cider and pumpkin spice appear all at once and communities enjoy the rewards of harvest time.

It is no wonder that so many hold the same truth in their hearts as the author L. M. Montgomery: "I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers"!

CAPTIVATING COLOR

I have fond memories of visiting a favorite aunt at her classic mid-century modern home.

I was awestruck by the uncomplicated ease of style in her home. The entirety of her home, inside and out, was sleek and simple. It all rendered as so sophisticated to me right down to the pops of color used to accent her decor. I was spellbound by her home; all of the things about it that fascinated me as a child remain with me today.

To the mind of a child, even the rain in her neighborhood seemed to fall in pops of color. That fanciful notion as well as my desire to use a limited retro-inspired palette was the foundation for creating my MCM Ethos Collection.

SIMPLICITY & BEAUTY

June days exploring local gardens, children making daisy chain crowns and an age-old phrase of encouragement offered to babies taking their first steps inspired my Daisy Meadows Collection.

This is the time of year when a combination of gentle sun and soft rains work in harmony to encourage charming displays of colorful flowers. Chancing upon the effortless beauty of a field of daisies or clematis vines in full bloom is a wonderful surprise!

Inspire creativity by going on a garden walk and remaining mindful of the beauty that speaks to your heart.
